Popular Nigerian afropop artiste and influencer, Tiwatope Savage-Balogun, more trivially known as Tiwa Savage, has clarified the original idea behind her famous hit track, 'Somebody's son' of her recent EP, 'Water and Garri'.

The elegant mother of one made this known in a viral video, during one of her performances; claiming that the song was about Jesus Christ and had nothing to do with relationships or marriage.

According to her, she received loads of reviews from people, claiming that the song wouldn't be a recognized hit, as it has a narrow scope, and relates to just women.

However, Tiwa stepped forward to correct this narrative which has been the obviously accepted idea about the song, over time. She made it clear that the song was not just for women, but for everyone, as every person needs somebody's son, 'Jesus Christ'.

In her words:

"They said this song would not be a hit, because only females would listen to it. Men are not going to listen to 'Somebody's son'.

But you know, when I wrote this song, I was not thinking of any earthly relationship, but only of the one with Jesus Christ, because he's the real somebody's son.

So, I said to doubters that people will relate to this song well, whether you're a man or woman, because we all need somebody's son.
